2012 Bolivia Origin Trip Photos

Our second annual Origin Trip and Cupping Event in Bolivia brought the Invalsa team and representatives from six American and Canadian roasters to La Paz in October 2012. We began with three days of cupping 40 micro-lot submissions in the Invalsa cupping lab in La Paz, narrowing the field down to the 2012 Top Ten winners.

We then spent the final three days visiting producers, including the coops Siete Estrellas and San Ignacio, and Celso Mayta of Cafe Golondrina. Invalsa has exclusive agreements with each of these groups to purchase all of their specialty coffee production at above-market rate prices.

We began and ended the trip with visits to some of Bolivia's most beautiful tourist destinations, the archeological site Tiawanaku, and a boat trip on Lake Titicaca.
